The virtual seminar for the final report of the extra-university research project entitled "Investigation and Analysis of Reliability, Capability Enhancement, and Control of the Cathodic Protection System of Lorestan Province Gas Pipelines Using Artificial Intelligence" was held on Wednesday, April 22, 1405, at 11:30 AM.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this project was implemented by Dr. Zeinab Sahebi, a faculty member of the Mathematics Department of the Al-Shtar Higher Education Center affiliated with Lorestan University, with the Gas Company of Lorestan Province as the client.

In this seminar, Dr. Sahebi elaborated on the research achievements, including the statistical-technical evaluation of all cathodic protection stations (CPS), modeling the reliability of each station using the Markov method, and the development of a Mamdani fuzzy model for simulating the behavior of the cathodic protection system under the supervision of the TMMS system.

She cited the design of an intelligent optimal adaptive fuzzy controller based on the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) with Sugeno structure and differential clustering as the main objectives of the project.

This controller, with a hybrid training algorithm, is responsible for automatically adjusting the output voltage of the transformer-rectifiers to maintain the desired protective potential.

Dr. Sahebi considered achieving indigenous technical knowledge in the design of an intelligent adaptive controller as the final output of this research and emphasized that its implementation in the cathodic protection system of the province will increase the lifespan of gas pipelines, reduce maintenance costs, eliminate human error by the operator, optimize energy consumption, and enhance system reliability.
