The Mourning Procession of Lorestan University Martyrs Hosted the Commemoration Ceremony for Teacher and Professor Day

The ceremony honoring Teacher's and Professor's Day in 1405 at Lorestan University was held in a different atmosphere.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this ceremony was held on the evening of Saturday, May 1st (Teacher's and Professor's Day), with a focus on social responsibility, hosted by the Martyrs' Procession of Lorestan University on Enghelab Street in Khorramabad. The main speaker of the ceremony was Hojjatoleslam and Al-Moslemin Mofid, the head of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office in the Hazrat Abolfazl (AS) Corps of Lorestan Province.

The ceremony was held with the joint planning of the Basij Professors' Association of Lorestan University, the Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs of the University, and the Basij Professors' Organization of Lorestan Province, with the presence of the members of the university's board of directors.

Expanding the University's Connection with Society

In this ceremony, the President of Lorestan University said: "The establishment of the Martyrs' Procession of Lorestan University has expanded the connection between the university and the people and society."

Dr. Mehrdad Dastani, while congratulating the arrival of Teacher's and Professor's Day and commemorating the memory of the martyr Professor Ayatollah Morteza Motahhari, stated: "Education did not stop during the war and continued in the virtual environment; it is necessary to appreciate the cooperation of all professors of Lorestan University for their efforts in this field."

He stated: "The mission of explanation is an important mission for professors; especially in the post-war era, this mission should be strengthened."

The President of Lorestan University stated: "The progress and power of Iran in today's world is due to the growth of science and knowledge in the country, which itself is a consequence of the efforts of Iranian academics."

Dr. Dastani, in another part of his speech, commemorated the memory of the esteemed scientific martyrs of the country, especially the martyrs of the scientific community of the country in the Ramadan War.

Science and Faith Must Go Together

The representative of the Supreme Leader in the Corps of Lorestan Province said in this ceremony: "History can be divided into before and after March 1st, 1404; what we are witnessing is the decline of the materialistic system of the West."

Hojjatoleslam and Al-Moslemin "Mohsen Mofid" explained: "The materialistic and materialistic system of the West cannot bring happiness to humanity; because true happiness is formed based on faith in monotheism and the worship of God."

He stated: "The teachings of the humanities should be based on Islamic sciences; science should be accompanied by religion and ethics; otherwise, science without ethics and without monotheism is the current inappropriate and anti-human situation of materialistic materialistic systems."

The head of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office in the Corps of Lorestan Province congratulated the arrival of Teacher's and Professor's Day to the teachers and professors of Lorestan Province.

A Teacher Who Invites People to Goodness is Worthy of Greetings and Salutations from God

The head of the offices of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office in the universities of Lorestan Province, in this ceremony, citing the teachings of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH), said: "A teacher or professor who invites people to goodness has a very high position in the sight of God; so much so that God Almighty, the angels, and all the creatures send greetings and salutations to this type of teacher."

Hojjatoleslam and Al-Moslemin Dr. Majid Moeidi, in another part of his speech, commemorated the memory of the proud martyrs who defended the homeland, especially the esteemed martyrs of the Ramadan War.

The Position of Teacher and Professor is Like the Position of the Prophets

In this ceremony, Dr. Gholamhossein Hosseini, the head of the Basij Professors' Organization of Lorestan Province, in a short speech, explained the position of the teacher and professor by citing the teachings of the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH).

Dr. Hosseini explained: "The status and dignity of the teacher and professor is like the position of the prophets, and this shows the importance of the mission of teaching and professorship in Islamic teachings."

The head of the Basij Professors' Organization of Lorestan Province, while congratulating Teacher's and Professor's Day, honored the memory of the teacher, professor, and student martyrs.

The Growth of Knowledge and Technology and the Expansion of National Cohesion

The Vice-Chancellor for Education and Graduate Studies of Lorestan University, in a speech, while appreciating the professors for their cooperation in holding virtual classes, said: "In accordance with the current conditions of the country, one of the positive points is that some cumbersome administrative bureaucracies can be removed so that educational and research affairs can be done faster."

Dr. Kianoush Barani-Beiranvand, in his speech, citing the nature of the 12-day and Ramadan imposed wars, explained that we are witnessing that Iran has made good progress in terms of the growth of knowledge and technology, especially knowledge and military industries, and another achievement of the war is the promotion and expansion of national cohesion among the people.

He appreciated the teachers and professors for their efforts for the scientific growth of the country and the promotion of patriotism and their role in defending the homeland and strengthening Iranian-Islamic identity.

The Necessity of the Connection Between Education, Research, Technology, and Social Welfare

Dr. Hossein Hatami, the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Technology of Lorestan University, also explained in a short speech that if Iran wants to become a comprehensive superpower, the content of the regulations for the promotion of the country's professors should be such that working on topics in a deeper and more practical way is sustainable and the damages of the existing regulations should be corrected.

Dr. Hatami emphasized the connection between education, research, technology, and social welfare to achieve comprehensive progress.

The Lesson of Resistance by the People Who Are Present in the Streets

The Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Lorestan University said in a short speech: "The people who have been present in the streets for many nights are also teachers of teaching patience, steadfastness, and resistance, and we should appreciate these people."

Dr. Mohammadreza Hassani-Jalilian commemorated the memory of all the scientific martyrs of the country.

It is worth mentioning that in this ceremony, other members of the university's scientific board also presented their views and perspectives on Teacher's and Professor's Day.
