Lorestan University Hosts a Meeting of the Governance and Legislation Think Tank to Strengthen University-Parliament Relations

The meeting of the Lorestan Province Governance and Legislation Think Tank, operating under the Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, was hosted by the Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs of Lorestan University, in collaboration with the Student Scientific Association of Economics of this university.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this meeting was held on Wednesday morning, May 13th, with the presence of a group of academics and experts, and various topics related to the indicators, capacities, and advantages of Lorestan Province's development were discussed.

During this meeting, attendees emphasized the necessity of a precise needs assessment of the province based on development priorities, and it was decided that in future meetings, each session would be dedicated to examining a specific topic so that its issues and solutions could be reviewed with a scientific and expert approach.

It was also approved that specialized committees and commissions would be formed under the think tank to examine important issues of the province and, after scientific evaluation, consolidate and follow up on practical proposals through the Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

In this meeting, Dr. Ghasem Sahraei, Vice-Chancellor for Cultural and Social Affairs of Lorestan University, also emphasized the need to prioritize the province's needs and proposed that each think tank meeting be dedicated to a specific topic so that the topic could be examined in the form of specialized committees and commissions with an expert perspective.

Referring to the province's capacities, he considered tourism as one of Lorestan's important advantages and emphasized the presentation of scientific and operational proposals for the development of this field.

Furthermore, attendees discussed topics such as the challenges of the Value Added Tax law and the necessity of fair distribution of resources among less developed provinces.

Based on the planning carried out, topics such as industry, agriculture, tourism, water, environment, and other important issues of the province will be scientifically reviewed in future think tank meetings, in a specialized manner, by the relevant committees and commissions.
