The first specialized aquatic clinic in the province will be launched at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Lorestan University.

A planning meeting was held for the launch of the first specialized aquatic animal clinic in Lorestan Province at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Lorestan University.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this meeting was held on Tuesday, June 9th, with the presence of Dr. Hassan Nayebzadeh, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Lorestan University, Dr. Nader Zakian, representative of the General Directorate of Veterinary Medicine of the province, and a group of faculty members of the faculty.

The meeting was convened with the aim of reviewing the necessary requirements and infrastructure for establishing the first specialized aquatic animal clinic in Lorestan Province at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Lorestan University, and the importance of developing diagnostic and therapeutic services for the province's aquaculture industry was emphasized.

Dr. Hassan Nayebzadeh, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, stated at the meeting that considering the province's high potential in the cultivation of cold-water, warm-water, and sturgeon species, the establishment of this clinic is an effective step towards improving the health of aquatic animals and ensuring food security for the community.

Furthermore, Dr. Nader Zakian, representative of the General Directorate of Veterinary Medicine of the province, while announcing the directorate's readiness for scientific and executive cooperation, emphasized the supervisory role of veterinary medicine in aquatic animal reproduction and cultivation centers and called for the training of specialized personnel and the provision of advanced therapeutic services at this center.

The faculty members present at the meeting shared their specialized views regarding the required equipment, specialized human resources, and the educational-therapeutic structure of this clinic.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided that a specialized working group, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Veterinary Medicine, would develop and present an operational plan and initial budget for the launch of this clinic within the next month, in such a way that the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, while providing services to private sector aquaculturists, can also collaborate with the public sector as a cooperating and trusted laboratory for the Veterinary Organization.

It is noteworthy that the location of this specialized clinic will be within the Specialized Veterinary Hospital of Lorestan University, which operates under the supervision of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Fisheries are considered among the potentials of Lorestan Province, and the future establishment of the first specialized aquatic animal clinic in Lorestan Province can contribute to the further flourishing of the fisheries industry.
