Dr. Fazlollah Mirderikvand is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Lorestan University and the Head of the Counseling and Health Center of this university.

We spoke with him about the following two newly translated books:

1- An Introduction to Applied Cognitive Psychology; by David Groome - Mitchell W. Eysenck; Translator: Dr. Fazlollah Mirderikvand.

2- Positive Psychology in Clinical Settings (Research and Practice); by "Chiara Ruini"; Translator: Dr. Fazlollah Mirderikvand.

Practical Books for Improving Mental Health and the Quality of Human Life

Dr. Mirderikvand told our reporter: "Both translated books are among the new and practical books; especially in various professions, they are used to prevent cognitive errors."

The Head of the Counseling and Health Center of Lorestan University explained: "Various professions, especially sensitive professions such as piloting, identifying criminals, etc., must avoid cognitive errors; especially the book Applied Cognitive Psychology, greatly helps these types of professions to reduce cognitive harms."

Dr. Mirderikvand stated: "The approach of the book Applied Cognitive Psychology is to help all people in various professions to improve their work productivity and, as a result, have a better life; therefore, the content of the book is completely practical."

He continued: "In the mentioned book, practical topics such as strategies for improving the power and ability of memory for various professions exist; for this reason, the book is a useful and practical book."

A faculty member of the Department of Psychology at Lorestan University explained: "In the book Positive Psychology in Clinical Settings, new topics have also been raised; topics such as spirituality, religion, individual responsibility, social relations, friendship, compassion, flourishing and perfection, humanity, human relations, appreciation and gratitude for what one has, and many positive issues have been raised."

Dr. Fazlollah Mirderikvand added: "In this book, it has been emphasized that people should strengthen the positive aspects of their lives; because strengthening these aspects automatically reduces mental illnesses and abnormalities and even reduces social harms."

Dr. Mirderikvand continued: "One of the important topics in the book Positive Psychology in Clinical Settings is that the more a person can flourish the positive aspects of their life, the more they improve their level of mental health."

He stated: "I am extremely grateful to the current management team of Lorestan University and the University's Printing and Publishing Department for helping me to bring these two practical books to the printing stage."

The Head of the Counseling and Health Center of Lorestan University clarified: "These two books, in addition to being used in the course topics for students, can be used for individuals and professions in society, and they can be used to prevent cognitive errors and mental illnesses; the main goal is to prevent mental abnormalities and improve the mental health of society."
