A Step Forward at Lorestan University / Ministry of Science Gives Green Light for Establishment of Center for Development and Excellence in Education

Lorestan University has received initial approval for the establishment of the "Center for Educational Development and Excellence."
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, Dr. Kianoush Barani-Biranvand, the Vice-Chancellor for Education and Postgraduate Studies of Lorestan University, announced this news, stating: "The initial approval from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology for the establishment of the 'Center for Educational Development and Excellence (EDEC)' at Lorestan University has been obtained. The establishment of this center had previously been approved by the University's Board of Trustees."
Dr. Barani Biranvand explained: "This center will be launched in line with the implementation of Articles 19 and 20 of the Seventh Development Plan Law and the policies of the Ministry of Science's Office of Educational Affairs, and will operate under the supervision of the University's Office of Educational Affairs."
Necessity of Establishing the Center
The Vice-Chancellor for Education and Postgraduate Studies of Lorestan University added: "Given the rapid transformations in the higher education system and the need for continuous improvement of educational quality, the establishment of a specialized structure that can focus centrally on educational development and excellence, beyond routine executive duties, seemed necessary.
With its policymaking and advisory nature, this center will fill the existing structural gap in the Office of Educational Affairs and provide the ground for the realization of the scientific and specialized missions envisioned in upstream documents."
Dr. Barani Biranvand stated: "Mr. Davood Mirzaeifar, a respected faculty member of the Educational Sciences department at the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, holding a Ph.D. in Educational Planning, has been appointed as the head of this center."
He explained: "With the receipt of this permit, a significant step has been taken towards completing the structure of the Office of Educational Affairs and realizing the scientific and specialized missions envisioned in upstream documents."
Main Goals and Missions of the Center for Educational Development and Excellence:
1. Educational Planning and Development: Designing and implementing educational transformation programs at the university level.
2. Professional Empowerment of Faculty Members: Conducting specialized courses and workshops to enhance the teaching skills of professors.
3. Ensuring Educational Quality: Establishing systems for monitoring and evaluating educational quality and continuously analyzing their results.
4. Educational Foresight: Studying and planning to address future transformations in higher education.
5. Guiding and Developing Educational Innovations: Utilizing modern technologies and artificial intelligence in the educational process.
6. Developing Skill-Based Education: Strengthening the connection between education and the needs of society, industry, and executive sectors.
7. Providing Specialized Educational Consultation: Offering advisory services to faculties and academic departments.
