Continuation of the Lorestan Governance Think Tank's Steps for Scientific Participation in Provincial Development Solutions

At a meeting of the Lorestan Province Governance and Legislation Think Tank, held on May 30, 2026, in the Shahid Rashvand Hall of the Faculty of Management and Economics at Lorestan University, the most significant capacities, challenges, and solutions for Lorestan's economic development were discussed and examined under the agenda item "Presentation of the Province's Economic Issues System."

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, in this meeting, Seyedeh Zahra Najafizadeh, a member of the Scientific Council of the Lorestan Province Governance and Legislation Think Tank and the Deputy of the Planning and Budget Organization of Lorestan, referred to the province's capacities in the fields of agriculture, industry, mining, tourism, water, and energy, and stated: "Despite possessing numerous advantages, Lorestan still faces serious challenges in its path to economic development."

She identified the lack of investment, weak transportation infrastructure, migration, export problems, the province's low share of water resources, and an unfavorable business environment as the most significant developmental issues for Lorestan, adding: "Formulating investment incentives, utilizing tax exemption capacities, completing semi-finished projects, developing infrastructure, and strengthening exports can pave the way for economic growth, job creation, and better utilization of the province's capacities."

Subsequently, Dr. Omid Omidi Shah Abad, the Secretary of the Lorestan Province Governance and Legislation Think Tank and the Economic Deputy of the Lorestan Governorate, emphasizing the necessity for the think tank's sessions to be results-oriented, stated: "The discussions raised in this meeting, after expert summarization, will be compiled into policy packages and sent to the relevant authorities and the Research Center of the Parliament for follow-up."

He highlighted the responsibility of the Think Tank Secretariat in following up on the outcomes of the sessions, emphasizing: "Following up on the results of the meetings until a specific outcome is achieved is on the Secretariat's agenda and will be continuously pursued."

Furthermore, Dr. Ali Joudaki, a member of the Scientific Council of the Lorestan Province Governance and Legislation Think Tank, while explaining the "Ramadan Simorgh" plan of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Research Center, titled "National Wisdom Campaign for a Resurgent Iran," stressed the necessity of active participation from executive bodies, specialized institutions, universities, NGOs, and the private sector of the province in presenting policy ideas and solutions.

This meeting was organized by the Student Economics Association of Lorestan University and the Cultural and Social Deputy of the University.
