Holding Two Practical Workshops on Nature Tourism and Catalyst Technology by Lorestan University Career Guidance Center
May 21, 2026
Following the planning of the Lorestan University Specialized Career Guidance and Job Placement Center, two practical employment workshops were held to strengthen the connection between "education," "research," and "application."
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, the reports of the two workshops are as follows:
ـ A virtual workshop on "Familiarization with Employment Opportunities in Nature Tourism with a Focus on Birdwatching" was held.
This workshop was held on Wednesday, May 20th, as a webinar in collaboration with the Zhuan Academy, a technology hub located in the Lorestan University Growth Center, and the Specialized Career Guidance and Job Placement Center of the university.
Dr. Navid Zamani, the workshop instructor, examined job opportunities based on nature tourism and introduced the potential and suitable areas for the development of natural tourism in Lorestan province to those interested in this field.
Participants in this workshop, who were university students, graduates, and those interested in the tourism industry, actively participated in this webinar and shared their experiences by presenting their ideas for creating nature tourism-related businesses.
The second part of the workshop will be held in the future as a visit to the tourism-targeted wetlands, along with birdwatching equipment, for those interested, so that they can practically become familiar with birdwatching activities and its role in the development of natural tourism.
Participants in this workshop will receive a valid certificate from the Lorestan University Specialized Career Guidance and Entrepreneurship Center.
ـ The specialized virtual workshop "Catalyst Technology: From Research to Career Horizon in Industry" was held with the presence of three postdoctoral researchers from the research group of Dr. Alireza Oveisi and Dr. Saba Deliran, professors at the Faculty of Chemistry, Lorestan University.
In this workshop, Dr. Rokhsareh Abedi addressed the topic of producing hydrogen and oxygen through water splitting in the presence of electrocatalysts.
Then, Dr. Halimeh Kordtamandani spoke about the conversion of carbon monoxide gas into clean fuels such as clean gasoline based on the Fischer-Tropsch reaction and pointed out the job and industrial opportunities facing students.
Subsequently, Meysam Sadeghi explained his experiences in the process of preparing polymers in Lorestan Petrochemical and elucidated the importance of Ziegler-Natta and metallocene catalysts.
In the end, Dr. Alireza Oveisi and Dr. Saba Deliran summarized the topics and presentations. They emphasized the importance of catalysts and described suitable job positions for chemistry students.
After that, a question and answer session was held between the students and the audience, during which the capabilities of Lorestan province and the country in drawing the career future of students were discussed and reviewed.
Catalysts, as the beating heart of industrial chemical processes, play a key role in increasing production efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and developing green and sustainable technologies, and are a bridge between university research and job opportunities in the industry.
It is worth mentioning that the Lorestan University Specialized Career Guidance and Job Placement Center, under the responsibility of Dr. "Soroush Azadbakht," operates under the supervision of the University's Community and Industry Relations Management.
