Leveraging Lorestan University's Knowledge for Optimizing Power Plant Water Consumption

In line with expanding the university's role in addressing industrial challenges and improving productivity indicators, Lorestan University has entered the operational phase of the scientific project "Optimization of Power Plant Water Consumption" by signing a research and applied contract with the "Daneshmand" Research and Development Institute and the Khorramabad Combined Cycle Power Plant.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, following numerous meetings of the Research and Technology Vice-Presidency of Lorestan University in Tehran with the Mostazafan Foundation and the Daneshvar Fund, and subsequently, referral to the companies under this holding in Lorestan province, the aforementioned research contract was concluded.

This research project (contract), which aims at optimal water resource management for the power plant, will be implemented under the scientific guidance of Dr. Mohammad Jafari, a faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering of Lorestan University.

The main areas of cooperation include intelligent water balance auditing, improving the efficiency of cooling systems, and implementing innovative solutions for the recycling of industrial wastewater.

This contract is a community-oriented and practical step towards increasing the link between the university's scientific outputs and the operational needs of the industrial sector, which can lead to cost reduction and increased productivity at the power plant level.
