Lorestan University President Announced: Ownership of 133 Hectares of Central Site Lands Returned to the University

The President of Lorestan University stated: "Following continuous legal and administrative follow-ups at the highest executive levels of the country, based on a forward-looking perspective for the university, with the final decision of the Documentation Commission of the Legal Department of the Presidency, out of a total of 149 hectares of land in the central site of the university, which had been re-registered under the National Housing Production Acceleration Law, 133.5 hectares have been returned to the ownership of Lorestan University."

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, Dr. Mehrdad Dadastani elaborated: "Furthermore, 15.5 hectares of the 221-hectare land of the university's central site remain allocated, in accordance with previous approvals, for the construction of housing for the university's faculty members and staff."

Dr. Dadastani explained: "In early 1404, we realized that the deeds for 149 hectares of land in the central site of Lorestan University had been changed in the years 1400 and 1401, under the National Housing Production Acceleration Law, and new deeds were issued under the Housing Production Acceleration project. This decision was met with protest from Lorestan University, as there was a concern that vital space for the university's development would be lost."

He stated: "In response to Lorestan University's protest, it was decided that members of the Documentation Commission of the Legal Department of the Presidency would conduct a comprehensive field visit to the lands of the central site of Lorestan University."

Dr. Dadastani continued: "In the summer of 1404, the esteemed President and members of the Documentation Commission visited the lands of the central site of Lorestan University. The required documentation was also provided to the relevant commission by the legal department of Lorestan University."

He added: "Additionally, Mr. Dr. Sepahvand, the esteemed representative of the people of Khorramabad and Chegeni in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, diligently pursued the university's rights from the competent authorities."

The President of Lorestan University noted: "Following Mr. Dr. Sepahvand's follow-ups, numerous meetings were held at the Documentation Commission and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. In some of these meetings, deputies from both the Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development were present. Ultimately, with the presentation of strong evidence and robust documentation, the final decision of the commission was fortunately issued, stating that 133.5 hectares of the lands of the central site of Lorestan University would be returned to the ownership of Lorestan University through the issuance of two deeds."

Dr. Dadastani emphasized: "As Imam Khomeini (RA) stated, the university is the origin of all transformations. Therefore, the university must have sufficient physical space for quantitative and qualitative expansion and development. In the previous decision, large portions of the central site's lands were re-registered, which was detrimental to the future growth and development of the university's infrastructure. However, through the efforts of the university's board of trustees and legal team, and the diligent follow-up of Mr. Dr. Sepahvand (esteemed member of parliament) and the support of Mr. Eng. Shahrokhi (esteemed governor), the protest of Lorestan University and the Ministry of Science was accepted, and ownership of a significant portion of the lands was returned to Lorestan University."

The President of Lorestan University concluded by expressing hope that with the stabilization of this ownership, the university will be able to move forward with even firmer steps towards the scientific transformation and authority of Iran and service to the homeland.
