Lorestan University's Environmental House Participation in Knowledge Enhancement and Empowerment for Zagros Biome Conservation

The Lorestan University Environmental House participated in a knowledge enhancement and empowerment workshop for deputies and experts of the General Departments of Environmental Protection of the Zagros-dwelling provinces. This workshop, hosted by the General Department of Environmental Protection of Lorestan Province, aimed to improve preparedness and coordination in firefighting operations in areas managed by the Department of Environment.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this specialized course was held on September 24 and 25, 2026, at the premises of the Lorestan Oil Pipeline and Telecommunications Company.

In this course, Dr. Mortaza Gholami, a faculty member of the Faculty of Natural Resources at Lorestan University and the manager of the university's Environmental House, served as the instructor for the first day of the scientific-practical workshop. Emphasizing the necessity of protecting the valuable Zagros ecosystem, he elaborated on the principles and foundations of firefighting, the unique ecological characteristics of this biome, and traditional and modern firefighting methods and techniques with an operational approach.

It is worth noting that the Zagros biome is constantly at risk of seasonal fires, and holding such workshops is considered an effective step towards empowering executive forces and reducing damages resulting from fire incidents in the Zagros biome.
