The Shabahang Microbiology student team from Lorestan University was among the top three teams in the "Ham-Masir" event of the Daneshvar Innovation Fund.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, the Shabahang Microbiology student team from Lorestan University was introduced as one of the top three teams in the "Ham-Masir" event, which was held with the support of the Daneshvar Research and Development Institute's Innovation Fund, affiliated with the Islamic Revolution Mostazafan Foundation.
This team consisted of Pedram Gholami, Mohsen Rahimi, Seyedeh Zahra Behzadi, and Mehdi Torkashvand.
Pedram Gholami, Mohsen Rahimi, and Mehdi Torkashvand are undergraduate students of Microbiology, and Seyedeh Zahra Behzadi is a postgraduate student of Molecular Genetics. These team members are part of the Biology group in the Faculty of Basic Sciences at Lorestan University.
The Shabahang Microbiology team had previously achieved third place nationally in the second national "Rah-i Sho" competition.
In this competition, 35 selected teams advanced to the next stage and the "Ham-Masir" event camp. This camp was held from October 7th to 10th, 1405 (Persian calendar) at the Islamic Revolution Mostazafan Foundation and included a specialized exhibition, meetings with specialized mentors, meetings with investors, and presentations of the teams' achievements.
During this event, Dr. Hossein Dehghan, the Head of the Islamic Revolution Mostazafan Foundation, and Dr. Mehdi Ghasemi, Advisor to the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, were present and closely reviewed the progress of the projects.
The Shabahang Microbiology team operates in the field of food security and has focused its project on the design and development of diagnostic biosensors for Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Pseudomonas bacteria in the dairy industry. This project aims to provide a rapid, accurate, and cost-effective method for identifying bacterial contamination in milk and dairy products, thereby taking an effective step towards enhancing consumer health and reducing waste in the dairy industry.
The majority of individuals and teams participating in this event comprised postgraduate and doctoral students; however, the Shabahang Microbiology team from Lorestan University, with its undergraduate Microbiology students, managed to be ranked among the top three teams of the Daneshvar Institute.
This success demonstrates the high scientific capacity of Lorestan University students, particularly in the field of basic sciences and interdisciplinary research, and can pave a new path for the more effective participation of student teams from this university in the arena of innovation and technology.
