New Estimate of War Damage to Universities / Submission of Documentation Report to the Government

The Head of the Legal, Bills, and Parliamentary Affairs Center of the Ministry of Science announced the completion of the documentation process for damages incurred by the country's higher education and research centers, stating: In the recent war, 44 scientific centers were damaged. According to the Public Relations of the Ministry of Science, quoting Mehr News Agency, Afshin Safahan, the Head of the Legal, Bills, and Parliamentary Affairs Center of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, while detailing the ministry's actions during the recent war, announced the completion of the documentation process for damages incurred by the country's higher education and research centers.
He stated: One of our most important responsibilities during this period was the documentation of the incurred damages. From the very beginning, specialized teams were formed, and we invited prominent jurists from within and outside the country to collaborate with us in person and virtually.
Safahan added: After designing the documentation process, the necessary guidelines were sent to the affected centers, and these centers proceeded to prepare images, documents, and evidence based on the established framework.
The Head of the Legal, Bills, and Parliamentary Affairs Center of the Ministry of Science continued: To formalize these documents, we requested cooperation from our colleagues in the judiciary, and with the participation of practicing lawyers and members of the Consultants' Association, the authenticity and validity of the documents were confirmed.
44 Scientific Centers Damaged/ Damages Exceeded 33 Trillion Tomans
He stated: Yesterday, we succeeded in completing the documentation process and submitting the final report to the government. According to this report, 44 scientific and university centers in the country have been damaged, and the estimated amount of incurred damages exceeds 33 trillion tomans.
Safahan pointed out that this estimate only includes material damages, and noted: This figure is separate from the psychological, emotional, and other consequences resulting from these incidents.
He considered the documentation and estimation of damages as the most significant action of the legal sector of the Ministry of Science during the recent war and added: Alongside this matter, numerous meetings were held with representatives of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the Education, Research, and Technology Commission, the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, and other relevant commissions.
The Head of the Legal, Bills, and Parliamentary Affairs Center of the Ministry of Science said: In these sessions, the Ministry of Science's actions in various fields were communicated to the representatives, and while receiving their views and suggestions, effective cooperation was established between the Ministry of Science and the Parliament.
