Official Launch of the Lorestan Province Governance and Legislation Think Tank at Lorestan University

In a ceremony held on Wednesday, July 14, 2026, at the Research and Technology Incubator of Lorestan University, the Governance and Legislation Think Tank of Lorestan Province was officially inaugurated in the presence of a group of managers and academics.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, the ceremony was attended by Dr. Hassan Baharvand (Member of the Steering Council of Governance and Legislation Think Tanks, Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly), Dr. Hamzeh Safarbiegi (Secretary of Governance and Legislation Think Tanks, Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly), Dr. Omid Omidi-Shahabad (Deputy Coordinator of Economic Affairs of Lorestan Governorate), Dr. Hossein Hatami (Deputy for Research and Technology of Lorestan University), and a group of academics.

The establishment of this think tank aims to foster synergy between the academic system and the country's legislative system, so that the scientific and research capacities of Lorestan Province can be utilized in the process of formulating macro-policies and amending laws.

Following the inauguration ceremony, a specialized meeting of this think tank was held in the meeting hall of the Presidency of Lorestan University.

In this meeting, Dr. Baharvand and Dr. Safarbiegi, while explaining the approaches of the Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasized the necessity of strengthening and expanding the network of provincial think tanks.

They noted that the ultimate goal of this network is to maximize the utilization of the scientific potential of academic elites to solve regional and national challenges and, ultimately, to promote law-based governance throughout the country.

During the continuation of the meeting, members of the Governance and Legislation Think Tank of Lorestan Province presented their viewpoints, research priorities, and suggestions for increasing the effectiveness of this institution in provincial decision-making.

It is worth mentioning that before the inauguration ceremony, the attendees visited the graves of the three unknown martyrs of Lorestan University and paid tribute to the esteemed martyrs by reciting Fatiha.
