The Office of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of Lorestan University issued a statement on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the glorious Mersad Operation.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, the text of the statement is as follows:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Where history held its breath, not in an equal battlefield, but in the narrow alleys of betrayal; where ancient hatred, disguised as "Eternal Radiance" and under the guise of a great lie, harbored the desire to conquer the capital of love.

But Mersad was not merely a name on the map; Mersad was the manifestation of the sacred wrath of a land whose veins are intertwined with the blood of honor.

The "Mersad" operation was not only the final act of the eight-year Sacred Defense, but a mirror reflecting the spirit of a nation that, amidst a storm of doubts, carved its path with its own blood. To understand Mersad, one must first re-examine the atmosphere of Iran in those days; days when, after years of struggle, the enemy harbored the false notion that the great nation of Iran had grown weary of the Sacred Defense.

In that hazy atmosphere following the resolution, the vengeful enemy and the hypocrites who accompanied them believed that the nation's weariness meant a weakening of their faith. With materialistic calculations and a vain ambition, they struck from behind, intending to "plunder victory" in the final moments.

But they had overlooked one great truth: "War in Iran was never merely a military equation; war in Iran was the performance of the prayer of love."

Mersad was the turning point of emotion and epic; a moment when the nation of Iran, on a unified front, displayed its magnificent steadfastness to history.

That operation proved that the heartfelt bond of this people with their homeland and their ideals is unbreakable under any covenant and in any circumstance.

Mersad is the embodiment of the truth that if the enemy, in its vain delusion, considered the "end of the war" to be the "beginning of surrender," it learned in the ambush of Mersad that "the honor of a nation does not end with the signing of any document."

We commemorate the memory of all the martyrs of the Mersad operation, as well as a group of the commanders of the 57th Hazrat Abolfazl (AS) Division, such as Dariush Moradi, Commander of Operations Intelligence, Zaman Karami, Commander of the Demolition Battalion, Hamid Reza Ebrahimi, Commander of the Division's Axis, and other great men of the Mersad epic.

May the memory of all the valiant heroes who, bathed in blood in the western regions, inscribed the epic of Mersad with their own blood, forever beat in the heart of this land.
