Sunday was declared a public holiday nationwide

The Fourteenth Government, following numerous requests from various provinces of the country for the public to be able to attend the farewell and funeral ceremonies of the great leader of the Islamic Revolution, declared Sunday, July 5, 1405 (2026) as an official holiday throughout the country.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, quoting the official news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRNA), the government, after numerous requests from various provinces of the country for the public to be able to attend the farewell and funeral ceremonies of the great leader of the Islamic Revolution, and with the aim of facilitating and enabling the widespread presence of various segments of the society in the mourning ceremonies, declared Sunday, July 5, 1405 (2026) as an official holiday throughout the country.

It is noteworthy that Monday, July 6, 1405 (2026), is also an official holiday based on a previous announcement by the government.
