The First Session of the Specialized Committee for "Developing an Action Plan for Promoting Environmental Protection Culture in the Province" was held under the guidance of the Environmental House of Lorestan University.

The inaugural meeting of the specialized committee for "Developing an Action Plan to Enhance Environmental Protection Culture in Lorestan Province" was held on July 19, 2026, in the meeting hall of the General Department of Environmental Protection of Lorestan Province, coordinated and managed by the Environmental House of Lorestan University.
This committee has commenced its activities in line with the implementation of the National Document for Enhancing Environmental Protection Culture, which was approved in session 814 on January 30, 2024, by the Supreme Council of Public Culture.
The primary objective of convening this meeting is to develop an action plan and create a suitable platform for elevating the level of environmental culture and literacy within the community to ensure better protection of the province's natural resources and environment.
The committee was held with the presence of representatives from executive bodies and non-governmental organizations, including representatives from the General Department of Environmental Protection of the province, a representative from the province's non-governmental organizations, a representative from the province's network of environmental organizations, a representative from the Agricultural Jihad Organization of the province, a representative from the General Department of Natural Resources and Watershed Management, and a representative from the General Department of Education of the province.
The committee's secretary is Dr. Morteza Gholami, a faculty member and the director of the Environmental House of Lorestan University.
During this session, members reviewed and coordinated on various aspects of the action plan.
The main discussion points included the following:
_ Coordination, evaluation, and supervision of the development of the action plan to enhance environmental protection culture.
_ Development of resources (structural and human capital) related to environmental protection.
_ Environmental education at various academic levels and stages.
_ Promotion of environmental culture within religious ecosystems.
_ Culture, art, sports, and the environment.
_ Natural resources, green spaces, agriculture, and environmental technology.
_ Urban and rural management and the environment.
_ Public education and environmental social responsibility.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided that representatives from the Provincial Islamic Culture and Guidance Department, the Provincial Islamic تبلیغات Department, and village and city municipalities would be added to the committee's membership list.
It is noteworthy that prior to this, on July 17, 2026, the first meeting of the provincial working group for enhancing the environmental protection culture of Lorestan was held at the Governor's Office, with the presence of the Deputy Governor for Political, Security, and Social Affairs and the Director General of the Office of Participation and Social Responsibilities of the Environmental Protection Organization, emphasizing the implementation of this national document in the province.
