In order to enhance the academic and specialized level of students and to familiarize them more closely with the latest achievements, technologies, and equipment in the field of mining and mineral industries, the scientific visit of the Student Scientific Association of Mining Engineering of Lorestan University to the Iran CanMine International Exhibition was held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in cooperation with the Student Committee of the Iranian Mining House and the Cultural and Social Deputy of Lorestan University.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, in this program, students participated in this scientific visit in two buses, including one for male students and one for female students.

Participants, while visiting various exhibition booths, became acquainted with the latest mining equipment and technologies, heavy mining and road construction machinery, and the capabilities of active companies in this industry.

Furthermore, an opportunity was provided for dialogue and exchange of views with representatives and managers of major mining companies in the country, during which the grounds for joint cooperation in educational and specialized fields were discussed and examined.

Among the most significant outcomes of this visit were consultations and obtaining assurances of assistance from some major mining companies regarding the provision of internship opportunities for mining engineering students, as well as planning for holding scientific and specialized visits to major mines in the country, including the Gol-e-Gohar mining and industrial complex in Sirjan and other prominent mining complexes.

This program, in addition to creating a suitable platform for direct interaction between students and the mining industry, is considered an effective step towards further linking university education with the real needs of the job market, identifying employment opportunities, and developing the relationship between the university and the industrial sector.

This scientific visit was held with the accompaniment and supervision of Dr. Mohammad Hayati (Scientific Advisor of the Scientific Association) and Dr. Farshad Koulivand, a faculty member of the Mining Engineering department of the Faculty of Engineering of Lorestan University, with the participation of 50 students.

In conclusion, Mahan Shojaei, the Secretary of the Student Scientific Association of Mining Engineering of Lorestan University, sincerely appreciated the cooperation and support of the Student Committee of the Iranian Mining House, the Cultural and Social Deputy of Lorestan University, and all the participating organizations and companies that played a role in organizing this program.
