The first meeting of the Parents and Teachers Association of Lorestan University Boys' High School for the current academic year was held with the welcome of the students' parents, emphasizing the teaching of modern skills, student well-being, and strengthening home-school cooperation.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, in this meeting, Dr. Ali Ebrahimpour, Director of the Educational Complex of Lorestan University, emphasizing the necessity of simultaneous attention to scientific education, skill development, mental and physical health, and strengthening the connection between family and school, stated: "School should not merely be a place for attending classes and obtaining grades, but rather a platform for discovering talents, nurturing creativity, and preparing students for future life."

Referring to the sensitivity of adolescence, especially during the first stage of secondary education, he stated: "Adolescents are at a stage of life where they need mutual understanding, to be heard, and to have opportunities for experience and learning more than ever before. Family and school, by accompanying each other, can create a safe and supportive environment for the growth of their personality, increase their self-confidence, and strengthen their sense of responsibility."

Developing Modern Skills Alongside Academic Education

Dr. Ebrahimpour, referring to the importance of expanding learning opportunities beyond conventional educational programs, announced the provision of grounds for holding programming and artificial intelligence classes in cooperation with the vocational and technical complex.

He stated that the goal of these programs is to familiarize students with the skills required in today's world, enhance problem-solving abilities, and provide opportunities for discovering individual interests and talents, adding: "Familiarity with new technologies can pave the way for the formation of new interests and more informed choices regarding students' future academic and career paths."

Attention to Well-being, Health, and Holistic Development

He also emphasized the importance of sports activities in the process of student development, stressing the necessity of paying attention to their physical health, well-being, and the strengthening of their social relationships.

According to the Director of the Complex, the implementation of diverse sports programs, including students' access to the swimming pool as part of physical education classes, in addition to creating a different experience, can contribute to strengthening discipline, cooperation, responsibility, and physical activity; however, the implementation of these programs must be carried out in compliance with safety regulations and be appropriate for the students' conditions.

Assessment: A Tool for Better Understanding Learning Status

Another part of this meeting was dedicated to the topic of academic assessment and the plan for utilizing the provided tests.

The Director of the Complex stated that the purpose of testing should not be merely ranking students or increasing academic pressure, and emphasized the necessity of using test results to identify strengths and areas requiring improvement.

Referring to some parental concerns about the validity of online tests and the possibility of cheating, he noted: "Test results should be reviewed alongside other evidence such as classroom assessments, oral questioning, practical activities, and the student's progress, and their abilities should not be judged solely based on one score."

Family-School Interaction: A Foundation for Student Growth

The Director of the Complex further stated that constructive communication between family and school is one of the important factors in students' academic and educational progress, adding that disagreements and concerns of families should be addressed through dialogue, transparency, and respectful follow-up.

Emphasizing mutual responsibility between family and school, he added: The school must be accountable for the goals, implementation methods, and results of educational programs, and families should also accompany the growth of their children by offering constructive suggestions and participating in educational programs.

Emphasis on the Role of Family in Supporting Adolescents

In the final part of this meeting, the Director of Schools, by offering suggestions to parents, emphasized the importance of dedicating daily time for distraction-free conversations with their children, paying attention to effort and progress alongside grades, and maintaining continuous communication with teachers and school officials.

He concluded by stating: "These valuable actions are the result of the continuous and empathetic efforts of the managers and colleagues of the educational center; a set of purposeful endeavors to enhance the quality of education, the holistic growth of students, and to provide a suitable platform for their future success."

He emphasized the necessity of cooperation from families and the educational complex and expressed hope that by strengthening home-school collaboration, the grounds for students' comprehensive growth and their greater preparedness for future life would be provided.

The main focus of this meeting was to strengthen home-school cooperation for nurturing an aware, capable, responsible generation equipped with the skills needed for the future.
